In addition to managing my current clientele, I love a variety of challenges and opportunities, Whether it’s creating hair that will stay on a cliff side photo shoot on a windy day, or making a shy bride look like a movie star for her big moment, no two briefs are the same. What remains constant is that sense of satisfaction I get knowing I have delivered a bespoke look for a unique occasion.
Since my first weekend job in a salon, whilst still at school, I have been passionate about hair. In my London years, I have had the privilege of working with the late Terry Calvert in Clipso, training with some of the best in the business, including Darren and Jackie Ambrose (DJ Ambrose).
After a lengthy period travelling and working abroad I moved to Edinburgh to study Photography whilst working and updating my skillset with the prestigious Paterson SA group.
Becoming a make-up artist was the natural next step. After taking some initial courses in London, I studied with Sarah Hill’s Make Up Academy, Glasgow. Since qualifying I have had the good fortune to work on several commercial campaigns, the most high profile being Haig Club.
My wee nook in the corner of Edinburgh Palette is a haven for relaxation, providing personal one to one service in a private space.
Amongst the plants, my small space gives a home from home experience with a selection of fine tea, great coffee and palm oil-free shortbread to complete your visit. You can bring your dog your cat or even your child if need be.
Being Eco friendly is very close to my heart so wherever possible products and materials are plant-based or recycled, I am also a proud member of the Green Salon Collective.
Parking is easy around the surrounding area for free, or at weekends and evenings, the carpark below the building is available to use.
